The Overseer

Every once in a while I work on the 40" altered doll.  I found some great tattered wings in the Halloween section at Goodwill.  She's high up on a shelf overlooking my work table....reminding me to get busy.

Toot-Toot My Horn

A very nice article in our local newspaper.  Sun City West Independent does a spectacular job in promoting our local art fair which is coming up Nov. 5th.  They feature various artists in the weeks leading up to the fair.  I am thrilled to be included.

Spiral Icicle Pattern

I found the below spiral icicle pattern (click HERE) that is very similar to the discontinued Bead's Knees' crystal icicle ornament pattern I used in the photo above (click HERE).  I will be making some of these for the holidays.

Mermaids

Sculpting translucent clay on glass is one of my passions.  This vase was purchased by a very good friend who fell in love with it.  It made me feel so good.

Black & White Bowls

A 3" glass bowl covered with slices of the black and white polymer clay canes I received in the cane swap at the AZPCG Prescott, AZ retreat.
And a tiny 1-1/2" glass bowl covered in more black and white canes.

Black and White Canes

I participated in a Black and White cane swap at the Arizona Polymer Clay Guild's Annual Retreat in Prescott, Az.  I have not done any caning in a long time so I kept it simple.  My hand is still not OK, but, boy, it felt good to work with clay again!
I was happy with what I accomplished and had fun making a huge mess.
I'm using some of the canes to cover glass bowls and some to cover eggs.
I ran the black and white scraps through the pasta machine until they were a beautiful gray color.  And then......made gray and white canes.

Newsletter!

http://tinyletter.com/MarleneBrady  This is a link to my newsletter.  Click on it and type in your email.  I’m trying something new.  Sometimes there just isn’t enough room on Facebook or my blog to share supply resources, explain a process, show a technique or share what’s going on in my studio (works in progress).   To be honest, it may include more than polymer clay at times.  I love creating jewelry, art dolls, assemblage art, journals, paintings, shabby chic art, etc.  I’m preparing for the holidays soon with lots of polymer, art dolls and mixed media pieces so, if you are interested, sign up.

Sole Sisters

I was inspired by Gwen Murphy's shoe art.  I could not find a website for her, but if you Google her name, you will see some crazy whimsical shoe faces.  Love them.  I made mine from PaperClay and a pair of black flats.  I added eyes that open and close.  I may switch out the colorful earrings for some black and white ones.
I may hang them on my closet wall or maybe set them on the floor by the front door...haven't decided yet.  But they do make me smile.  My right hand and elbow are still painful and numb, but I am getting back to my art and feeling better.

Bead Crochet Beige & White

Goes with everything.....love basics.  Still recuperating from hand/elbow surgery.  Can't wait to get back to bead crochet.

Christmas In July

A good friend gave me the crystals from her mother's antique chandelier.  I wired a small hanger and hung them on spiral ornament hangers.  I also hung all 35 of the spiral icicles I beaded.  The tree is so pretty with or without the lights on.
And, yes, the ornaments were carefully packed and the tree dissembled, awaiting the holidays.
I found yards of long blue fringe at a second hand store.  It made the most luscious little tree.  It's all texture and bouncy little strings.
